The beta version opened publicly on May 23, 2005 with three virtual lands to explore: Main Street USA, Fantasyland and Adventureland. It was launched as a part of the Happiest Celebration on Earth promotional campaign to commemorate 50 years of Disney theme parks. It's like they say, thanks for the memories. ; )

I accidentally missed the date, but can you believe it? On May 21st, 1 year ago VMK closed for good. That was one of the saddest days of my life.....

~ Voice of Mickey Mouse for 32 years, dies ~

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Wayne Allwine, the actor who voiced Mickey Mouse for more than 30 years, has died. The Walt Disney Co. says Allwine died Monday May 18th of complications from diabetes, with Russi Taylor, his wife of 20 years and the voice of Minnie Mouse, by his side. He was 62.
