~ Plane Crazy turns 82! ~

Plane Crazy, Walt Disney's first silent short to feature Mickey & Minnie Mouse, premiered 82 years ago today. Sound will later be added to Plane Crazy when it is re-released in March 1929.

~ Peter Pan turns 57! ~

Disney's 14th animated film, Peter Pan (based on James M. Barrie's 1904 story) opened at the Roxy Theatre in New York City on this day back in 1953. This will be the final Disney animated feature released through RKO, as Walt Disney will establish his own distribution company, Buena Vista Distribution, by the end of 1953.

~ Sleeping Beauty turns 51! ~

Disney's animated feature film Sleeping Beauty premiered at the Fox Wilshire Theater in Los Angeles on this day back in 1959.

~ UP Wins at the Golden Globe Awards ~
